July is one of the most popular times of year to go on holiday to Bali, and with good reason. The weather in July is perfect for a summer vacation.
With an average temperature of 28 degrees the trade winds cool the island and drive a much of the humidity of the rainy season away. In areas on higher ground, such as Ubud, it’s perfectly comfortable to sleep with just a fan and there’s no need for air conditioning.
The weather in Bali in July is great for surfing and with the wind hitting the island from the West, some of the most famous surfing spots in Bali, such as Kuta beach and Uluwatu usually have big swells.
The dry weather in Bali in July is perfect for outdoor activities and whitewater rafting is popular at this time of year because there is a lower risk of flash floods. July is the middle of the kite season in Bali and the annual Bali Kite Festival takes place in this month in Padang Galak, near Sanur Beach. Teams will start practising in the weeks leading up to the festival and it’s not rare for the huge kits to cause traffic jams as they are transported across the island with accompanying music and merriment.
